From The Associated Press, September 25, 2013

SALEMBURG, N.C. – The good guys have been vandalized by the bad guys in Sampson County.

The sheriff’s office reports that someone broke into the North Carolina Justice Academy in Salemburg earlier this week and took a truck and power equipment worth almost $22,000.

The Fayetteville Observer reports the academy is 1 of 2 in North Carolina that trains law enforcement and criminal justice workers.

A sheriff’s report says the thieves got onto the grounds sometime overnight Monday by jumping a fence. They took a Ford F-250 pickup and power equipment including drills, backpack blowers, a pressure washer and weed trimmers.

The State Bureau of Investigation is investigating.
