A Shelby woman was charged with speeding away from a police checkpoint early Thursday.
A Shelby woman was charged with speeding away from a police checkpoint early Thursday.
Barbara Ann Selby, 40, of the 1500 block of New House Road, eluded a checkpoint station on Melrose Drive and sped away from Shelby Police Officer T.J. Brackeen, according to a warrant for her arrest. The warrant states that Selby was driving recklessly and was traveling more than 15 mph above the posted speed limit.
Police charged Selby with one count of felony fleeing/eluding arrest with a motor vehicle. She was booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center under a $7,500 secured bond.
